Everett, WA –An accident involving an e-bike Friday afternoon, May 2, 2025, sadly claimed the life of a teenage boy.
As reported by KING5.com, “[t]he Everett Police Department said the teen was riding an e-bike at about 4:30 p.m. along 5th Avenue West when he struck a braided cable across a lot near the 8800 block of 5th Avenue. Police said the cable was between a fence post and a traffic bollard.”
According to the report, “[p]olice said the cable has been removed from the intersection, and the department is investigating the deadly incident.”
SeattleTimes.com is reporting, “Emiliano Munoz [was unable to survive his injuries] May 5, three days after he ran into a braided cable.” Per the report, “Munoz had been playing with his friends nearby when he got on his electric bike and tried to take a shortcut through a field…He then struck the metal cable that had been hanging between a fence post and a traffic bollard.”
The investigation is ongoing.
